History of UPSC?
When India was ruled by the British Government, a Royal Civil Service Royal Commission was established in 1923 under the chairmanship of Lord Lee of Fareham. The commission issued a report in front of the British government in 1924, in which it was proposed that 40% British, 40% Indians and 20% of those who are employed in the provincial services of India in the civil service should be promoted and admitted to the civil service. full form of UPSC
The British Government, accepting the proposal of the report, established the UPSC on 1 October 1926, which we know today as the Union Public Service Commission. The full form of UPSC is “Union Public Service Commission“. Civil service examinations are conducted by UPSC only, on the basis of which candidates are selected for all India examinations like IAS, IPS, IRS and IFS.
Examinations are organized by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) for the first class services of the Central Government. The responsibility of conducting the examination for the Indian Administrative Service has been entrusted to the Union Public Service Commission.
For the Indian Administrative Service in UPSC, the candidate has to cross three stages – preliminary examination, main examination and interview, only the candidate who passes all the three stages is selected for the Indian Administrative Service.
